Kayan Egypt for Trade and Investment, the Skoda brand exclusive agent in Egypt, organized a remarkable ceremony at "ZED PARK" in Sheikh Zayed City on the occasion of the launch of its all-new 2021 OCTAVIA A8 model, which comes with a set of superb specifications for passenger’ cars category in terms of dimensions, engine, safety and design. The ceremony was like a family gathering, which included many entertainment forms, with a special corner for children in an impressive family atmosphere.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. "Axel Schroeder", Head of Sales in Asia and Overseas, SKODA AUTO International Company, Engineer Nader Nabil, General Manager of the Skoda Sector at Kayan Egypt, officials and senior officials of the company, as well as major Skoda distributors in Egypt, in addition to media, journalists and bloggers, as well as Skoda customers.
In his opening remarks, Mr. "Schroeder" welcomed the attendees of this occasion, which constitutes a milestone for the company in Egypt. He thanked Kayan Egypt, the exclusive Skoda agent in Egypt, as well as the network of SKODA dealers in Egypt, for their outstanding performance in 2020, despite all the challenges associated with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, expressing his great happiness and pride in presenting the new generation of the flagship model and the best-selling in the long term, the new SKODA OCTAVIA A8 2021.
“The current global situation puts limitations in different areas of business; the automotive sector is unfortunately no exception, however, under these challenging circumstances, we at ŠKODA AUTO are trying to meet the needs of our customers around the world by constantly developing, improving and updating our products and services,” said Schroeder. He also added that “as for our products and services,” “Skoda is still working on increasing sales volume and market share this year in the Egyptian market, and is successfully heading towards reaching the sales target of 5,500 units, and increasing sales by more than 40% compared to last year.”
“We aspire on the long term to be one of the three top-selling brands in Egypt… but rather, in North Africa at large… This is why Skoda was assigned within the VW Group to take over the leading role in North Africa… I do trust that this new responsibility will contribute to the advancement of Skoda Trademark and VW Group in this very important area, Schroeder added.
He stated that Skoda has a plan to expand its agents’ network to be closer to clients as well as offering a distinguished experience, through designating 4 additional new agents in 2021.
In his speech at the ceremony, Eng. Nader Nabil, General Manager of the Skoda Sector at Kayan Egypt, expressed his happiness to present the new model of Skoda Octavia, and said: “Today, we present the all-new generation of Skoda Octavia, the family car that has proven its efficiency over many years worldwide, since the introduction of the first generation at the end of the last century. Octavia has always been perceived by Egyptians in particular with high quality and great reliability as well as the highest levels of luxury and distinctive performance, which made the brand "Octavia" a true legend in the Egyptian car market.
Mr. Nabil added that Kayan Egypt offers the all-new Skoda Octavia or Octavia A8 to the Egyptian market in three categories, namely Ambition and Style and the special and sportier RS category. The large dimensions of the new car provide the highest levels of comfort and spaciousness inside the cabin, which is more luxurious than ever, as it includes luxurious options not usually found in cars of the same class. Depending on the selected category, there is the Wireless Charger, the headlights and backlights fully working with Matrix LED lights, in addition to the the Climatronic daul zone AC system, as well as the luxurious Alcantara leather on the seats and door panels, in addition to the sports suspension system RS Sport suspension system, specific to the RS sports class, and many other exclusive options.
He added that the first and second categories, Ambition /Style, are equipped with a powerful 1.4-liter TSI engine that generates 150 horsepower and a torque of 250 Nm. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission “Shift By Wire”, and can hit from zero to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. The first category, Ambition, comes at a price of 399,999 EGP, while the second category, Style, comes at 459,999 EGP.
Mr. Nabil announced the surprise of Kayan Egypt for all Octavia lovers, as it presents the high-performance sports class RS, which comes with a more powerful 2.0-liter TS-class engine and generates 245 horsepower with a torque of 370 Nm, and the engine is connected to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Octavia RS can go from zero to 100 km/h with this wonderful engine in 6.7 seconds, recording a top speed of 200 km/h. Kayan Egypt offers this special sports category at a price of 649,999 EGP.
Mr. Nabil concluded saying that “No doubt, the all-new Octavia will leave a wonderful imprint in the hearts of Skoda fans in Egypt, and we are fully confident of its ability to restore the former glory of Octavia and will top again the throne of luxury family cars category in the Egyptian market. This car has been the best in its class for many years.”
